THE IDEA
Adding depth to a dark palette while integrating storage, cooking and a place to gather.
Dark timber, stone and glass create a kitchen of restrained contrasts. The fluted island incorporates a cooktop and seating for four timber stools. At the back, a horizontal window and illuminated display cabinets introduce two lines of light into the dark volume.

MATERIAL / THE DESIGN
Smooth surfaces and a fluted island front.
Subtly veined worktop and backsplash.
Curved stools contrast with the composition.
The horizontal window sits above the sink. Higher up, the display cabinets illuminate glassware and complete the joinery.
The island's vertical fluting contrasts with the smooth cabinetry. A dark worktop brings preparation and cooking onto one surface.
Timber stools introduce a natural tone at the counter. Their curved shapes soften the straight geometry of the cabinetry.
