THE IDEA

Making room where there seemed to be none.

The under-stair unit follows the slope and combines open shelves with enclosed storage. Each module's proportions make use of a transitional space and give it a presence of its own within the house.

Project status
Furniture design studies. The gallery and elevations show the proposed pieces.
Role
Project coordination, design development, 3D modeling, drawings and visualizations.
Credits
CH Proyectos. Francisco Serrano Hess participated in coordination with Eugenio Aguado and Daniela Garza.
01

Working with a particular geometry.

The under-stair unit follows the existing slope and distributes storage among modules of different heights. The tallest end accommodates open shelves; closed fronts follow the descending staircase and bring order to the composition.

02

One piece, different rhythms.

Timber, niches and doors introduce different ways of storing and displaying objects. The visualization explores how to integrate the unit into the room while preserving a continuous reading of the joinery.

03

Everyday details matter too.

Alongside the under-stair unit, the archive includes elevations of a double vanity and a desk. Doors, drawers and existing tops are coordinated in drawings relating dimensions, divisions and use. These furniture studies were developed at CH Proyectos.
